Our Story

About Us

We started Exclusively Classics because the shop we wanted to take our own classics to didn't exist. So we built it.

The Gap We Saw

Most Shops Make You Feel Like an Outsider

"There wasn't a place where someone without a deep car background could feel comfortable restoring, modifying, or repairing a classic vehicle."

Classic car shops have historically catered to seasoned enthusiasts — people who already know the lingo, the parts numbers, the model codes. If you walked in without that background, you often left feeling condescended to or confused.

We built Exclusively Classics around a different premise: every owner of a pre-1986 collector car deserves the same level of patient, honest, expert service — regardless of how deep their technical knowledge goes. Whether you've owned classics for 40 years or just inherited one from a family member, you get our best work and our straight answers.

How We Work

The Four Commitments

01 — Focus

Pre-1986, Full Stop

We do not work on modern vehicles. That decision was intentional and permanent. Specialization means every tool, every reference manual, and every hour of training in this shop is calibrated for collector-era vehicles — and nothing else.

02 — Honesty

You Know Before We Start

No work begins without your written approval. No scope expands without a call first. We estimate thoroughly, communicate openly, and document everything — so the final invoice matches the estimate, and you're never surprised.

03 — Welcome

Expertise Without Intimidation

Our mission is to be the shop where anyone — gearhead or newcomer — feels respected and confident. We explain what we find in plain language. We show you the car, not just an invoice. We want you to understand what was done and why.

04 — Craft

Quality Over Volume

We deliberately limit how many vehicles we have in the shop at any one time. Your car gets the attention it deserves — not a slot in an assembly line. The guys who work here own classics too. This is personal for all of us.

Why the Cutoff

Why Pre-1986?

"1986 is the inflection point — after that, cars became computers. Before it, they were still mechanical objects you could understand, modify, and truly own."

Pre-1986 vehicles are mechanical in character. Their systems — ignition, fuel, brakes, suspension — were designed to be serviced with hand tools, without a dealer scan tool or proprietary software. That's not a limitation; it's a feature.

It also means the expertise is genuinely different. A technician who understands Rochester Quadrajets, points ignition, and drum-to-disc conversion is a different specialist than someone trained on OBD-II diagnostics. We hired the former — on purpose.

The 1986 cutoff is also where the golden era of American muscle, European sports cars, and the collector market's most valued vehicles sits. That's the world we know.
